Peterson Field Guide to Rock & Minerals. The ISBN is 0-395-91096-x and it is published by Houghton Mifflin www.houghtonmifflinbooks.com. I use it in all my undergrad classes. Half the book is science stuff, but the other half is full-color pics and gorgeous ones too! And it's under $20 :) I wore my first one out, so I had to go buy another one over the summer.
